Path Builders Unite!

It is so easy to accept the idea that the world existed before as it does now, just like it does now. Does that make sense? Like, you are looking around and you just kind of think to yourself "Yep, this is how it always was, give or take a few people and buildings and probably a whole lot more wildlife" But this isn't true. You know that, we all know that because there is history and photographic evidence to convince us otherwise. The thing that I have been realizing lately, over the last two months or so, is that I was taking for granted all the people that paved the road for us. Even the bad people that paved it for their own gain, some good seems to come out of almost everything somehow which naturally leads me to question the existence of good and evil in the first place, but that is a different blob.
Because good and evil are just words... right?
Moving on, It occurred to me as I was eating some food that I didn't grow that my world, the one I live my life in, exists because of the hard work of so many people before me that saw opportunity and utilized or exploited it to fit around their ideas... to push us all forward. This is something that I suppose has been pretty interesting to me for a while, but I just never really dedicated my brain powers to get down to the "why".
What I discovered is that the "why" isn't the real kicker in the first place! What really flipped my wig was realizing that ANYONE can be a paver. Anyone can lay the bricks for future generations, and in fact that is what we are all doing anyways, even if we aren't trying to, or don't even want to in the first place.
The best part is that you can sort of decide, whenever you feel like it, to put down paths to positivity... or negativity but I don't think it is a good use of time to build paths towards negativity since those paths are much easier to build and really what is the point unless you are just building them to teach others the importance of positivity...?
What this means to me is that you first recognize your potential in whatever field or areas that interest you and then you realize that you are in control of the path you lay. In my perfect vision of the world, we all do this for the greater good and help each other out by being resources for other path builders... Does this sound like I am trying to convince you to join my cult yet? I hope so!.. We have ca-ake!

I am just typing this out as it pours out of my brain, so for a lack of better terminology, I have to resort to the simplest descriptions possible. Okay?

Path Builders Forward!

I like when I see that people are ambitious, I like to see people that have ideas and make them into realities rather than just settle for an ambitious idea. People that get shit done, give yourself a hand. No offense to the people that don't, because this is a safe place of support and resource, this is my way of extending a path. The fact is that there are a lot of people that don't even HAVE ideas. So the fact that you have ideas, even if they only stay ideas, is huge. But the people that make things happen, those are people that always inspire me and make me examine my own situation.
This is healthy and it is important, I think, to surround yourself with people like this because it is almost a sure fire way to kick your own ass into gear. And let's be honest, only YOU can kick your own ass. Take a second here and give it a try. Now congratulate yourself for trying something new.

The opposite of this would be anyone that doesn't want you, or anyone else to actually follow through with what you know in your heart you were meant to do!! They don't want to try nothing new unless it is prepackaged and prepared for them. Stay away from these people. I don't mean like, shun them, but it is way too easy to get caught up in their problems, and really, you can't help everybody. Think of the masses that would benefit from your awesome idea, and then think about this one sad sack trying to keep you and your ideas down. You decide which is a better path here.

I've been lucky so far because people have believed in me. At some point I decided that they were believing in me for a reason, and then at this point I started to just believe in myself. I still accept compliments and applause, but the point is to stand on your own feet. Learning to accept that I believed in myself was probably the single greatest accomplishment of my life, besides perfecting my 380˚ slam dunk which, I am no scientist, but it looks to me like that's 20˚ more than you need.
And so, although I can't help everyone be an aerial gymnast like myself, I can give you this little piece of advice: Start believing in yourself and your ideas and think positively. It takes a little getting used to, but just watch at how your quality of life changes once you try believing in yourself.
We owe it to the world to be the best we can be while we be... Unless you happen to be the best at hunting whales, Fracking, spreading hate, Mencia impressions, chopping down the Earth's lungs, poisoning my coffee, giving out needless parking tickets, littering in front of my son, exposing yourself on the train, or ruining a good buzz from some ice cold beer.
In those cases it is best that you rethink your path.

Torch Song.

I have a positive outlook on life despite all my worries.
And although I am not in control over the direction of the world, or my life, I am in control of my brain.
This allows me to interpret things the way I would like to, and that gives me a sense of control or direction that helps me cope with the numerous decisions and responsibilities that I am faced with on a daily basis.
And to be honest, once you get used to dealing and coping and trudging, you form a base layer of tolerability.
Once this layer forms, you can kind of forget about it.
It is the foundation and if you made it solidly, then you are golden.
And don't be distracted by the tent industries built around your insecurities.
These are just there to make you question yourself and even though they're billed as being helpful I think they are often times more damaging on account of then you give them more money to get more pieces to the puzzle.
The puzzle that THEY designed.

Life is work, and work is good. You should never stop working. DO NOT apply this to your job though, life work and job work are two different things and only one of them is important, only one of them makes you happy.

I was moving this billionaire's couch, and it was a brand new custom made couch for a room in a guest house that will rarely be used. It was a nicely built piece of furniture upholstered in quality fabric. It was not cheap. It probably cost 2 to 3 grand which is nothing to a billionaire.
I was moving it around, lifting it and setting it down and then lifting it again and it made me come up with this:
When a person that has so much money, it becomes valueless. When their money is valueless, so are the objects that they buy with it. When the objects are valueless, I treat them as such.

This logic applies to most of the things in this guys house EXCEPT for his art, or at least most of his art, and that is because those paintings are one of a kind, and I appreciate them on many different levels.
But a custom made couch? Well shit, you can buy another, and another and another.

And it would be like drops in the fucking ocean.

Just like the rest of the infrastructural nightmares in this country, the old ways and values are crumbling. A giant boat, built by the masses, for the elite to enjoy, and it is slowly sinking. This is great because it results in us being able to use our brains and imaginations more.
Remember imagination?
Well imagine these old fucking industrial dinosaurs sinking into the tar until there is nothing to remember them by but their last breath, bubbling by the light of your torch.

What You Think Vs. What You Know.

Questions that have been knocking around my can:

Where is the vocal, motivated anti war movement?
- I saw a sign the other day, a poster, it said "Buy the bombs back" and it can you believe it was a fucking bracelet that you could buy made from salvaged metal from exploded bombs?
Are you fucking kidding me!?
We should be forced to wear these bracelets, not buy them.
As if the news doesn't try to sell the war(s) to us enough, now someone wants you to give them money for a bracelet to show you are against the war or some shit?
Granted I didn't read the entire poster twice over, so maybe I missed somethings.
But right away you can see the target demographic, those that believe they can do good by buying something like a bracelet.
Plus it is hard to not have a sneaking suspicion that this is just some joke a think tank came up with.

What is the next internet?
Sub question: Is it a step backwards to move forwards?
Sub sub question: Does it really matter considering we may have poisoned the ocean thus making the future of internet seem kind of pointless and shallow?
-You know how Google and Verizon just basically stole the internet's neutrality from us?
Well I wonder if THIS might cause any kind of revolution? Up until that deal, the internet was a level playing field in many ways, but now it is just like cable television and yet another possibly beautiful tool to help mankind progress to a more idyllic future was crushed.
"So where does this leave all the people that want to see that future realized"?
Good question, me, I am not really sure.
But I am excited by the prospects.
Unless we are actually living on a dead planet.
On account of the oil in the gulf/entire ocean.

In the future, will we all be able to classify ourselves by what type or level of victim we are/were to some corporation or government?
-This is a question that came to me as I was typing this post. I will have to think about it and get back to you, but in the meantime maybe you should think about it because it seems relevant and important. Maybe you could even let me knwo what you think?

Well, I am sweating my balls off, so I better go wash them and go to sleep.
Peace!

Sealing my own destiny.

It is not always easy to get somethings done on your own.
I mean, to motivate yourself to do something that isn't part of your daily routine.
But when you have a little dude like this waiting for you at home, it is a bit easier to nut up and tackle your task or obstacle.

I took multiple trains this morning.
I passed the stop for work.
I passed the last stop in Brooklyn.
I went to the city.
I busted the cycle wide open.

I don't know that anything will come of it, but the psychological relief that I provided
myself with made it worth it and then some.
A reminder that I am capable, and in control of certain things.

My advice is to buy yourself a doughnut and coffee to reward yourself after your task is complete.
Knowing that reward is waiting for you certainly helps you focus.

I am leaving for Arizona soon.
I hope that it is a cleansing trip.
I am looking forward to a dry heat.

Look What Happened!

So what happened was I was down by the stream that runs about 50' from my back door.
I was fishing, like usual, and I caught this beautifully fat trout.
When I was cleaning it, I found that it was stuffed with 12 jumbo shrimp!
And some slices of lemon!
SO I fired up the grill and tossed the whole mess inside.

What a delicious, convenient miracle.
