Human Behavior.

It's like scratching away at a wall in my brain.
Letting some light through while blocking out other areas.
Feeding and starving the piece at the same time and then accentuating the growth or decay.
Start in one room, then move to another and see if the magic follows.
Always keeping in mind that some people lose the magic forever,
So don't take it for granted.

Roll To The Rescue

The weather is changing so quickly.
Again, it all has a sense of doom.
Unless you are ready.

Follow the lines, chart the progress, make your map and keep it safe.

We're going to need our wits about us.

If you want to go look at this painting, you can. It is
hanging up at Louis B. James Gallery

A Painting is a Painting.

I like to paint on paper.
So sue me.

This does not make it a drawing.
You are probably saying "Obviously, A-DOI!!"
But in certain circles anything on paper is
a drawing.

Not in my circles.

... My circles that I painted on paper.

It's just a frustrating thing to deal with.
But I know you probably got your own problems.
And maybe your own frustrations.

So, nevermind.

A Good Night.

The way that the silence creeps in is slow.
But that isn't really true living here.
There is no true silence.
No quiet, really.

But one adjusts, and one takes what one can get.
So for now it is quiet, and soon it will be more so.
There is a bit of light, but not much.
I wait, listening to the rustling of a growing boy trying so hard to still himself.
The breathing soft and steady.
Traffic moves softly outside and there is a bit of a breeze.
The whir of a hard drive.
Typing noise.

Sweaty beads of condensation on my glass of ice.
That's a game of patience right there.

And me?
I just wrestle with the situations over and over again.
I think I got a good hold and then in a blink I am flipped on my back
with a weight on my throat.
But you know.
Life, Bro.

It Is Only Love.

Today I swept.
Maintenance.

I picked things up and moved them and then set them down again.
Lots and lots of that.
Repeat.

There are so many things I have yet to do.
I need to be able to organize and execute.
This is important so as not to leave this to
those who might have to do this for me....

You know, in case I were to get crushed by Anne Anvil.
Or trampled by Rhinos freshly escaped from the zoo...

I am only kidding of course.
There is only this moment.

Only this smile.
Only this breath.
Only this glint in one's eye.
Only this time.

Only this flat file crammed with paper.
Only this mass of painted, cut and reassembled wood.
Only these thoughts, poured from my brain onto canvas.
Only this tiny space.

I love you guys.

Frozen Solid.

Eyes snapped open at 7 this morning, nothing new there.
Business as usual, time to get up and get going.
Can't waste another second laying in bed.
Nope, not me.
Not this guy.

Heat was knocked out for 10 days after the storm.
Lucky though because it was only the heat.
Now it is back on with a vengeance!

Egg and avocado sandwich with salsa on it.
Coffee, hot water, OJ.
Juice, not Simpson.
Ha.

Get on Bike.
Race to City.
Too Fast.
Too Early.

Comic Book Store Instead.
To kill time.

Books, Wines, Surprises and Supplies.

Back to the Brooklyn.
Stop off for apples.
And Ice Cream.
Chocolate Milk.

...When in Rome...

Studio.
Paint.

This was the best part of the day.
It was all working out.
It all made sense.

I brought my thermos with Coffee.
A bagel and peanut butter also.
2 Apples while I was at it.

Then,

Clean.
Organize.
Film.
Clean more.
Sit.

Take a break to regard what you've done.
Look into it, get in there with your eyes.
High five yourself because it's good.
It is all good.

For now, Toast.

You like that sword?
That's pure silver.
That was what the girl who sold it to me said.
It was her protector, now it's mine.
With an added bit of HooDoo for my pal Jim.
She is off to Peru to walk the land.
"You should come meet us there."
Yeah, I wish.

Spray, spread and scrape.
Repeat, repeat, repeat.
Over and over.
Let it happen.

It's been two weeks my dudes.
Two weeks, and this life is getting messy.
Only it is darker earlier.
And I am tired as shit.
It is hard to be in this neighborhood, it reminds me too much of an earlier time.
The first time we moved to Brooklyn.
That was it's own thing, but it is too easy to compare the two.
I wish I could say that I had a preference.
But it wouldn't be fair
to either.
