Human Behavior.

It's like scratching away at a wall in my brain.
Letting some light through while blocking out other areas.
Feeding and starving the piece at the same time and then accentuating the growth or decay.
Start in one room, then move to another and see if the magic follows.
Always keeping in mind that some people lose the magic forever,
So don't take it for granted.

The Only.

I was thinking the other day.
I was thinking, if you want to do a good job, you will do a good job.
I know that that sounds probably pretty easy and in a way, dumb.

That is until you discover that the main key for this to work is
a commitment and desire to see this through
forever until you just drop dead,
or don't wake up...

Whichever comes first.

There is no end in sight, it is just the way you live
until you can live no longer.

Now what's dumb?!

Anyways, it was just a thought I had.
No big deal, and you know, take it with a grain of salt.
I am no one's boss.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't make a good boss.
It's just not in my immediate plans.

You know how there is that show where there is an undercover boss
that works alongside the employees to see how the ground level
jobs pan out and they empty garbage cans and take orders and mop
floors and the whole time no one knows that the boss is actually
the one manning the fry basket?

I just pretend that I am that boss, always, secretly
working alongside my "coworkers" without
making "boss pay" or having "boss responsibility".
It is a magical trick to get me through the day.

Fake it til you make it.

Step Into My Office.

This morning I had to take Burger with me to work.
It was Presidents day, so I kind of had the day off.

Kind of.

But I had to go in for some meetings and such.
And so we hopped on the bike and took off for the meetings.
It was so strange because I had this weird dejavu from the stand point of Burger.
I remember being him, slightly older, surrounded by the adults that my Mom
worked with when I would accompany her in similar situations
of not having any choice but to bring her son to work with her.

It all came crashing back on me as I tried in vain to ignore
his whispers and demands for food I had not packed.

Then it was all over and it was fine.
Before I knew it we were back on the bike and free for the day.
It was wonderful.

It really gave me somethings to think about though.
Like how I am prepared, and always have been, to figure things out
and make things work.

I learned that by watching my Mom.

Happy early Mother's day.

Never Said Never.

Check this out.
And try to help a bother out.
Yeah you read that right.
A Bother.

So?

What do you do with someone's
unwavering faith in you?
I'm asking.

I guess revel in it.
Right?
I mean, what's the point of
sitting around wondering why?
You only get one.

It is a crazy feeling
to be empowered by
something as simple
as a smile.
How are you?
I hope you are well.
Take care.

Try Harder, Even In The Pits.

I don't know where to start or where to begin.
But I will tell you one thing and that is that I have got to try harder.
It's time to try harder. That is what I told myself.
I have to try harder because I can.

This is not a slight on myself, it is just that sometimes you wake up and realize that you have been coasting for far too long on your good looks and sense of style, and it's time to pick up the pace a little bit.
Whatever you are doing, anything that you do, you get to a spot a lot of the time where you get comfortable, and that can be good, nice even. But it's like a pitstop, take your break and then get back on the track.
Because there is still SOOO much track.
And hopefully you have the tools and sense to keep moving.

Don't get too comfortable.
That is this week's motto.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do or think.
But somehow I was raised to appreciate the proactive.
And that is just one of my many life tools that I am thankful for.

I got a bunch of tools, and a big ass tool box to put them in.
So chew on that!

It Will Be October.

Don't be so hard on yourself.
Just stop beating on your soul like that.
Give yourself a break, and a hug.

Maybe you wake up and go to your job.
The one where you rape the earth and leave it for dead.
It's just your job, nothing personal, Earth.

There's kids to think about and also your wife.
You think your shift ends when you are done sucking gas out of the ground?
No no no my friend, your job is just about to start.

But then, maybe the life of a fracker is a lonely one.
Travel from down south, motel to motel, no one to call at the end of the day.
What would I even know about it?

Still, I think I would rather kill myself than kill the Earth.
But a job's a job, and that's nothing to sneeze at in this economy.
When all is said and done, you just gotta take it day by day.
